Adventure 2030 plans out the next 11 years at Northwest

Northwest Missouri State University is looking forward with a new plan called Adventure 2030, which plans out the next 11 years for the University.
Northwest President Dr. John Jasinski says Adventure 2030 is built around 4 main points.

"We have four strategic objectives in Adventure 2030.  We talk about our learners and really looking at the changing learning environment and addressing learner needs.  We talk a lot about partners and really being a solution provider for our partners.  We talk about our own people, our faculty and staff, and really being the best place to work.  Finally, we talk about ops, or operations, and really being efficient and effective in what we do."

Northwest Missouri State University reported a higher enrollment and retention for the year during the Northwest Board of Regents meeting Wednesday morning.
Jasinski says he's pleased with the uptick in rates, as well as the amount of first-generation students attending the university.

"All freshmen that came back this fall is the second highest ever, our first being last fall 78%. 76% this year.  So we're very pleased.  46% of our incoming freshman class are first generation students.  38% of our overall student body is first gen.  What that really means is a focus on accessibility and again, providing that quality, educational experience, and obviously doing it at a price that people can understand and afford."

Enrollment is up 3.6% from last fall and 11% from 2 years ago.
